Adoption is disappearing due to fees and slow txs. But let's say BTC was still fast and cheap fees, nobody is adopting because everybody is hording it. It could still grow without HFs, after all it went up 19 times YTD. So I don't see it as a necessity for growth. but usability is, and right now BTC isn't usable as a currency. And there is no quick solution in sight, while the other altcoins are just working fine.
Time jump ship, because this coin jumped the shark.
I've been surprised by its resilience to be honest....Plus it's about the only one of two other coins into other cryptos so it's got that monopolized in the mean time. Also a fanatical user base almost guarantees a pull back. It's losing ground no doubt (seen the bch and ltc charts today?), but not ready to write it off just yet. My holdings are pretty diversified right now...which is funny since I wished I wasn't as much on the last .btc/segwit rally.
As far as adoption and horders....isn't that easily fixable by sending a fraction of a coin?
