What is the reasoning for the big difference in the gox price and the quote everywhere else? I really haven't looked into bitcoins so I don't know anything about the different exchanges

Gox is going down in flames, the CEO must go to jail for sure, money is not
going out of Gox , they have those silly prices to trap greedy noobs to come in.

It would be like if a forex firm were about to go under and quoting a currency way lower than all other firms still quoting the real price.

He's either arbitraging the Gox/Coinbase rate or simply walking away with 'em. Either way the guy will do 1-2 years and walk away with many millions.
