Bitcoin is too volatile to be taken seriously

www.btfinex.com short bitcoins on margin. They use ego pay which is very expensive compared with okpay as well as bank wires.
www.igindex.com
www.plus500.co.uk
google binary options bitcoin, too many to list here.

Thanks - I was already aware of Plus500 and bitfinex.com (I assume you mean bitfinex and not btfinex).

With IG Index, I thought they no longer provide Bitcoin CFDs / spreadbets. Have they started to provide them again?

Btc-e have metatrader 4 and margin of 1:3 bitcoin trading available., presumably you can be short as well. Costs 1% for them to receive a wire and if you google it there are problems receiving the money from us banks.

Think about an accountant having to explain to the cartel boss that while laundering his money bitcoin dropped by half...:D

Launderers already take a routine 50% loss they have to pay everyone off in the chain. You seem to be not familiar with money laundering.

If the store-of-value asset is centrally controlled, corruption is possible by that controller. If the asset is created, then excessive creation leads to inflationary effects and mis-use of the power. A hard to find, unchanging metal like gold was an attempt at both, but I think it will not work this time. But I have been wrong before ....

The entire problem, could be solved with a store of value that couldn't be increased and couldn't be corrupted. A free market economy has been corrupted by collusion and force in the past once or twice before. An equal system, where citizens make the decisions was tried, but that was also corrupted slowly but surely. And here we are today.

Just for SteveGee ..... ...Lol and behold...

Bitcoin is on the ropes with Mt Gox troubles.

Next, watch for a law outlawing virtual currencies for protection against Terrorists or moneylaundering or libertarians or some other great reason. That is, if there is no already a presidential order or secret law passed. Curious that some governments don't follow their own rules but just you try it!

Governments that lose control of labor, taxation or currency will fail IMO.
