I took an Evelyn Wood speed reading course in the '80s. Didn't do much for me. I think the benefits of such courses are overstated.

Truly. Reducing sub-vocalization works but it's a difficult habit to change.

You can get a speed reading machine which extends with practice the area that your eye balls take in, thereby increasing the speed of your reading.
 
Didn't realize the concept went tech.

The best reading productivity hack is imo not to read as much as possible in a given timeframe, but to just read less ....

Especially if some one likes to read;
being selective+ repeating a read can be helpful.:caution::caution:
