Billionaire Quant Trader Alex Gerko Named UK’s Biggest Taxpayer

First time i hear about it. Was reading to find out, the average lenght of it remaining in effect, once a person has left his job. Couldn't find. Say 5 years~

Anyway, great idea ;
roots go back to 15'th century's England.
How is it implemented to keep the company secrets? Xtx just does market making, thus no much competition even if someone in the company leaves for himself? Market making can not be done individually.

I had in mind, the overall situation of a wide spectrum of companies from different industries, just the concept itself.

As a funny story, one guy that i was working with from the past, got into jail, south america. Learned how to curve wooden penguins. Went free. Started his own bis, selling wooden penguins, hirring people etc.

First two guys that he hired left & started their own wooden penguin shop. (Smiles)

Based on true events.

I never understood how he would prevent employees from departing and pursuing the same strategies. Same with Jim Simons' Renaissance. Of course employees sign non-compete clauses. But with so much money at stake, I am surprised there seems to be no leakage, since they can continue to deliver stellar outperformance year after year. Maybe employees are just so generously rewarded that they do not think about leaving.
the infrastructure is a huge part. There are some firms that are top % and you never hear of anyone going out on their own.

how can they do that to retain employee? Some employee may have to relocate due to family reason.

I don't understand your question. How can the employer do what? If an employee may have to relocate due to family reason, the employee quits, does a long commute, or remote.

I mean if someone leaves the company, how can the firm keep employee mouth shut?

Warren does believe, as does Bill Gates, that the wealthiest do not pay enough in taxes and he proposed his taxation remedy that is often referred to as The Buffett

However Warren is not in favor of a wealthy tax.
