This should be clarified, as he has been a US citizen for 35 years and subject to income taxes, and has had the same tax obligations and use of legal tax shelters that are available to any American of any political stripe.
I don't see how his desire to remove Bush from office or his disagreement with current policy conducted by the Bush administration, or his willingness to fund opposition to Bush in 2004 is grounds for his exile. It is not anti-American, it is an example of Democracy in action.
