He is absolutely right about the current state of the population. Corporations just love stupid people leading boring lives consuming shit cause they get a piece from every transaction. Its sad that these days, what's "trending" is more important than what is actually happening in the world.

the problem with grumpy old men is they finally get time to sit and watch tv and it is nothing like they remembered. They think the kids in the ads are the real kids of today.

A bit of hyperbole...I believe the Pimco deal was because he and El-Erian hated one another...no idea about a link with Soros...OTOH, I get the feeling that for years a bearish message on the stock market was good for herding the crowds into bond funds, so there was a definite agenda at work...

I think maybe it had someting to do with a sixteen year bull market in bonds

He's been saying that the government can't keep printing and get away with it. Since at least 09. And I believe him. Unfortunately I also bought TBT when he said the low 3 percent rates on the ten year weren't sustainable. Right again. They are now closer to two.
