Flimsy excuse if you ask me. My wife went and bought a Mac, but I didn't dump her. (Then again, I don't have $140B!)
I recall 10 years ago she was moaning that he didn't let her buy an iPhone, all her friends had the latest iPhones and would show them off, but she, married to the richest man in the world, had a crappy windows phone

I think it was more to do with not being seen with a competitor product.
Windows Phone (or whatever they called it) was pretty important to Microsoft back then. Although now it is forgotten...
