Biggest short squeezes since 1990

Quote from jem:

I was really good at trading the tech stocks in play when they were on the nyse.. they were sort of squeezing.

corning
lucent... ( I traded over one percent of its volume 1 day)
compaq.

I made a living off of emc, lucent, and diamond offshore.
I also had a drug stock or two when the others were not in play.

DO really was in a short squeeze for a long time...
It was really thin with wide spreads... maybe 25 cents or more.
Then after it topped all of a sudden it got thick.

Also when the qqqs first came out our office killed them for hundreds of thousands of dollars. I think the nas 100 was in sort of short squeeze.

Ahh... CMGI. You guys remember that stock?

I did but could not remember the name.
my nasdaq costs were far higher so I only traded small positions in nasdaq stocks.

I remember people calling our office to see if they could daytrade... as they had just made hundreds of thousands holding cmgi, amazon, yahoo. Yahoo was the trader for a while.

it was like nasdaq stocks were their to take money from wall street and give it to small investors for a year or two.

which is why all the rules got changed.

Thanks to all who have replied.

My apologies to zdreg--at first I couldn't open the link--now I can. What can I say? Maybe I was too dumb to click onto the link correctly.

Anyway, i'm still hoping that someone will remember the one page website that turned into $500M before crashing. What I remember is a static web page and the promise of bringing together buyers and sellers and saying "coming soon".

If anyone remembers this page and what stock it was wins the 64000 question.
