Big Jumps in Taxes Loom in 10 States

Quote from clacy:

Yes, if I had my way, only net income tax payers would have the right to vote. It's very frustrating to think that a wellfare recipient who has never left their couch, has a vote that is EQUAL to mine or yours.

Very depressing....

To be REALLY fair... "One vote for each $1 in tax paid"

Agree with you.

The revolution that created this country was based on the slogans - "No taxation without representation" and, "taxation without representation is tyranny."

I think the current conditions call for a radical change of approach based upon the converse of the above slogans - ie, "No representation without taxation" and "Representation without taxation is a free ride - like alimony." :)

what we really need is a revolution in the entire banking/debt system. the biggest problem is the united states is the $56 trillion in debt in total. and there's an interest rate attached to this debt. a gigantic chunk of our money/earnings goes towards paying off the interest on / servicing this debt rather than going towards more productive use - this is the biggest problem!!!

It's almost time for a conservative revolution. And I'm not taling a Republican revolution, but a CONSERVATIVE revolution. Reduce spending, keep taxes low. Maybe, just maybe the electorate will figure out that the people that we put in office are corrupt and incompetent.

The only problem is that so may people pay little or no taxes and the rest of us foot the bill for everyone.
