i see. that is definitely viable. i am thinking along same lines however not come up yet with something practical for such short term.

Which market were you buying on?

gold stocks etfs, oil, iron ore, etc whatever commodity linked to AUD.

my thinking is one should have short term win ratio high, so meaningfull compounding can take place. Say, you cannot be down 10 risks from top of equity curve. Automated trading cant do that.

Unexpected volatility - well, markets have other ideas than my signal.

My portfolio is net positive today thanks to gold. More luck than anything else.

I am now swallowing my pride and giving up on call for good.

Do you enter on limit, or some sort of resistance break ?

my view is banks are in trouble and that pushes gold up. As gold going up I am exiting position bit by bit. So I raise cash for next trading idea which can be as simple as buying gold back 10 % lower.

I am still at loss to explain failure of my signal. so, not trying to be smart.
