The establishment has an incentive to drum up "inflation/recession/pick your poison talks.." anytime there's dangers of tax reform, wage inflation, or welfare increases. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy if the fear sticks. "Inflation" was topic dejour a year before it even increased.

Its amazing Trump was even able to win in 2016 given those polls all said Hillary should win (except for the Fox News poll, obviously). I remember watching MSNBC & CNN election night and they were flabbergasted especially Van Jones.

National polls predict the popular vote,which Hillary did win.Unlike Trump, Biden cant lose the popular vote and still win The EC so its far worse for Biden being down in the national polls than Trump.And not only does Biden have to win the popular vote,he has to win it by 4-6 million votes.
