Don't dismiss polling 3 years prior to a presidential election.
There are millions such as myself that are 100 % certain that they/we will not be voting for Biden again.
Don't get too intellectually and theoretically fluffy here.
It is inherent in parliamentary forms of government that they usually have to/often have to cobble together a majority to form a government and that usually/often involves some serious, serious pandering to extreme or oddball minority factions within parliament.
Which parliamentary government belongs to a party that got a majority vote? Not Canada, not the UK, not Germany and so on down the list. What you call "working together" is often/usually just the having to pander to extremes or odd bedfellows that you want to escape.
We get it though. America sucks.
Polling is a snapshot in time with a margin of error. It will put you in the right place “thereabouts” but it doesn’t offer any real predictions for the future.
It’s probably fair to say Biden is more popular than Trump or DeSantis today. Tomorrow who knows.
It's always frustrating to see this, the usual story of Cons crash and Dems build back up and little done to make something of it.

I don't think thats fair to say.
Biden has pissed off more progressive and minority voters than any left wing president in history imo.
Building a government often requires different parties to come together and negotiate in parliamentary governments. There’s nothing wrong with that. More voices get a say.
On the left, socialists aren’t democrats and libertarians are republicans on the right. But our system forces people to bend to parties wills are their ideas and voices are downed out. Our system does not afford for that. It puts too much power in one party at a time and causes awful divisions among the population in order to gain political power. Our country is becoming sick from the division.
