The SPR is a total of what, like 2-3 months of energy usage by the US? That's not a lot.
We already used up most if not all of the bullets in that gun.

Yup, our energy strategy is all fucked up.
You run the SPR down and then don't follow through with the plan to replace it when price was reasonably down, because why? Basement Joe at the beach.
Then if you have run it all the way down and you are able to get a pantload of oil in an emergency, we are not able to refine it because we have not built a refinery since Hector was pup, and have no plan to do so and it would take years to build.
Other than that. It's all good.
