hey at least you're doing the bare minimum and getting educated.

There is no semi in Trumpism, it's all fascism. But to correct some stereotypes, all MAGA trumpists are not Republicans; some come from the blue collar Democrat ranks, often from union labor. Like the Democratic party, Trump's MAGA party brings together a mix of minority groups, white retirees, fundamentalist Christians, white supremacists, mostly white blue collar union labor, and various unstable types of flat earthers and such. These people are also found in Europe to various % of their electoral voters but what makes America unique is the unexpected sizeable group that came out of their ratholes with encouragement from Trump (if it's ok to voice anti racism, it should be ok to voice pro racism) has a carry-on effect in Europe where anything from the US eventually becomes national conversation there.
It shouldn't have come to a surprise that Putin invaded Ukraine after Trump lost the election. Had Trump won, US policy towards Ukraine and Russia would have switched entirely and the spin would have been anti Ukraine corruption and pro Putin respect of post cold war accords. Trump's spin doctors have spent his entire tenure vilifying slanted eyes Chinese and cajoling Putin's grandeur.
Biden's speech was superbe. It showed he isn't the feeble old men that Republicans have been spinning since his election, it showed courage and moral rectitude by clearly stating that MAGA is outside the bounds of democratic principles and giving non MAGA Republicans an opportunity to get out from under the MAGA fringe media control.
Trump is done and over with. But it doesn't mean support for his fascist agenda is gone. We see their efforts in all aspects of our lives, from religious intrusion everywhere, increased control over women, book bans, voting restrictions, etc. The Republican party must take a firm stand against MAGA nationalism and repudiate those in the party who align with it. The Republican platform needs to reinvent itself, by renewing with its globalist trade agenda, its conservative budget spending, and expand its base by embracing liberal social causes.
I hope not. I would really like to see the political landscape in the US evolve from a 2 party system to a true multi party system, where nationalists can express their views as much as socialists and anything else in the middle. I blame both Republicans and Democrats equally for preventing that evolutionary step.I'll disagree with one thing, Republicanism as a party is done, Biden had to extend an olive branch but they're full MAGA, they're beyond saving.
I've surmised the new right is the old dem guard and the new left are the prog. wing of the dems. I think these two factions are unlikely to co-exist as the GOP goes the way of the dodo bird. This is of course if we can stamp out the GOP's neo-fascism and can keep them away from power.I hope not. I would really like to see the political landscape in the US evolve from a 2 party system to a true multi party system, where nationalists can express their views as much as socialists and anything else in the middle.
