I get it, it puts progressives between a rock and a hard place. Nevertheless, the logic I described earlier remains valid--a point we'll have to disagree on.Biden being rewarded with a second term after such betrayal can hurt the most long term.It tells every future democrat they can lie to and betray progressives and minorities and they will still vote for you because the other side is worst.
Biden's failings to the country in no way compare to the criminal and attempted sabotage/subterfuge of Trump. My concern is for the country's democratic system more than anything else ... as it should be for everyone. Nothing else matters if our democracy (continues to) falls. Your concern here seems to be more about the well-being of the progressive agenda.
Consider this:
Progressives are in that hard place due to being a minority. In a democracy, majority vote rules. We call that fair. Is it not? The GQP doesn't like it, so they try to steal elections. Progressives don't like it, so they threaten to vote GQP, even though they are more aligned with dems.
Rather than threaten 'scorched Earth' if dems don't meet their demands, try increasing your number of members. Going scorched Earth will likely have the opposite effect on your numbers.
I recommend they get better at the carrot, rather than trying to master the stick. The stick won't increase progressive numbers; the carrot would do much better at that.
