It is to prevent you from getting terribly sick. I don't care what these "CDC directors" say. It is about protecting the patient, and not about protecting the non-patient. This is the fucking folly of the Millennial people in power now. It is very surprising.

Because THEY got shots as children not to prevent others from getting sick, but to prevent themSELVES from getting sick.

This is what Social Media has done to people with no mind of their own.

Actually the purpose of vaccination is both. To stop you as an individual from getting severely ill and to stop you from getting infected & transmitting the disease to others. In fact the measurement of efficacy of a vaccine is based on both factors.

FALSE! If people will just give up the narrative that the vaccine is to save OTHER people from getting infected, the infection rates will drop like a brick.

And if you disagree on how this has been measured (for decades) then please inform the scientific community on why they are wrong to evaluate the efficacy in this manner. I am sure they will want to hear your expertise on the subject explaining why the entire medical & scientific community have been wrong for decades.

While you are at it — tell them why the entire concept of herd immunity is wrong.

The reason the USA stopped at 66% COVID vaccine rate for the entire population is because the other 30% kept hearing the whole "you must do this for others so THEY do not get sick."

If the message the entire time had been, "Get this so YOU do not get sick", (and made no mention of helping others), the vaccine rate would be +90%.

I disagree. I think this is more about personal safety than sending a political message, and the MAGA crowd would have acted differently had Trump said to the US..."Get it to protect yourself."
