President-elect Biden wary of Trump-focused investigations, sources say
Biden has told aides that he's concerned that investigations would divide the country but that he would leave decisions up to an independent Justice Department.

WASHINGTON — President-elect Joe Biden has privately told advisers that he doesn't want his presidency to be consumed by investigations of his predecessor, according to five people familiar with the discussions, despite pressure from some Democrats who want inquiries into President Donald Trump, his policies and members of his administration.

Biden has raised concerns that investigations would further divide a country he is trying to unite and risk making every day of his presidency about Trump, said the sources, who spoke on background to offer details of private conversations. They said he has specifically told advisers that he is wary of federal tax investigations of Trump or of challenging any orders Trump may issue granting immunity to members of his staff before he leaves office. One adviser said Biden has made it clear that he "just wants to move on."

Another Biden adviser said, "He's going to be more oriented toward fixing the problems and moving forward than prosecuting them."

Any approach by Biden's Justice Department to Trump, his staff, his associates, his business or his policies wouldn't affect investigations by state officials, including Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., who has fought to obtain Trump's tax returns.

January 6 panel stands down on request for some Trump documents after pushback from Biden administration

(CNN)The House select committee investigating January 6 has stood down on its requests for some documents from the Trump White House, after the Biden administration convinced the panel to scale back its pursuits.

As a result, the committee won't be getting hundreds of pages of National Security Council records. But the documents may not have been all that helpful, anyway.

The revelation comes in a new round of letters about the status of Trump-era documents held by the National Archives. It's the first time the Biden administration appears to have pushed back significantly against the House select committee, as the National Archives works through thousands of pages of records from the Trump administration at the request of the House committee.

Biden set up the precedent because if he demands all documents be turned over no matter what it can be used against him for other reasons when GOP has control

Joe Biden and his ilk of extreme liberals the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, Ilhan Omar, Nancy Pelosi and others will raise everyone's taxes. I know quite a few extreme liberal friends and acquaintances who say publicly how they do not mind paying more taxes. Come tax time, these same guys whine and cry about how high their taxes are and how they should be paying less. I say to them, what are you complaining about? Everyone is paying these same high taxes? Can't wait for GWB, ExGoper and Cuddles4BS to complain about how much taxes they are now paying. Cuddles4BS is Canadian but, his idol Justin Trudeau will make him pay more monies because all those free programs have to be paid by someone else. And we have more refugees now going to the US and Canada. Someone has to pay for all the freebies they will get. Why do extreme liberal Socialists expect only other people to pay the high taxes? These people are just too dumb.
