You have to show up in the manner stated on the subpoena.

When you show up due to a subpoena they need their lawyers to be there, they need a stenographer present....they may need a skif room for classified information

it's a congressional subpoena. No one gives a shit and no one enforces them. He could've just sat there and pulled an "I plead the fif" Donnie. He complied by showing up.
