I think that is the wrong attitude. If the workers will just show that they have the desire and drive to make the company better, the employer will eventually capitulate and go "Hmm, we should treat our employees a bit better." This may sound altruistic, but I have always felt that to be true. It is the middle management that fucks it all up, and interrupts the messages the lower workers are sending to the upper management.
