1992 March polls, Clinton 25%, Bush 44%
1980 March polls, Reagan 31%, Carter 60% (boy was that fake news)
1948 March polls, Truman 39%, Dewey 47%

There might be more, but wikipedia was missing five elections for March polls.

So going back to 1948, we have data for 12 elections. Only 7 out of 12 predicted the EC winner. That's coin flip territory.
