And look at how thats working out for him.He should have stayed with the people and positions that got him the most votes ever.He is not going to come close to getting enough votes from the center to make up the millions he has lost from progressives and blacks.
The pollsters are professionals evaluating such matters. Biden is getting hurt by a perception of weakness, senility and inflation.
Biden is getting hurt by turning his back on the people who voted for him.
BTW,the center is not what democrat presidential candidates need to win,they actually get more than they need like Hillary getting 3 million more votes than Trump that was mostly from moderate whites.What Dems need most is blacks in the big cities of swing states coming out in big numbers voting 90% or more for the democrat.If they get that they win,if they don't they lose.The 2nd thing they need most is progressives and young people coming out to vote for them rather than stay home.
Older moderates vote for the lessor evil.Blacks,progressives and young people stay home rather than vote for the lessor evil.

Black voter turnout 2012-66.6%
Black voter turnout 2016-59.6%
So even with 3 million more votes blacks staying home by 7 points compared to 2012 cost Hillary the election.Biden wont even get 50% black voter turnout in 2024 imo.
