Really?
How does that work? Can he get two more consecutive terms? I'm a little unfamiliar with the rules. Literally.
For instance, can Barrack Obama, having served 2 consecutive terms, serve again?
For some reason I basically thought ex-Presidents were not able to run again. I need to look up Andrew Jackson because there was something like that in his history. A gap between tenures.
Yep. Trump can run again and be elected - in life- for a sum total of two terms whenever they may occur. One term already used up.
That's why the dems all had the big boner for continually impeaching him, even when he was headed out the door anyway. A president can be prevented from holding office again if removed by impeachment. Not saying/agreeing that they had the power to do that even after he was out of office, just sayin that was what their demented little minds were trying to accomplish.
I might have to read up a little, but from memory, a president could theorectically hold office for up to ten years if he/she/they arrived in office via the vp route when the previous president died...resigned .. was removed by impeachment, whatever. I think the constitution says if the remaining period that you assumed/inherited is more than two years it counts as a full term, if less, then no. I think.
