Stephen Miller and Trump were the ones to explicitly "weaponize" in American parlance, child seperation to strike fear into mothers and fathers considering crossing with their kids. By any reasonable measure, that was an act of evil.
The US could stabilise the nations these people come from with relative ease instead of actively destabilising them for decades in the cold war however for some to be rich, many must be poor.

I think if it comes out that illegal aliens are receiving $450k payouts people are going to become angry and rather aggressive in their tax filings.
People would rather pay accountants and lawyers than hand their money over to children who intend to spend it trying to destroy the country.
