Its not just can you get in, but can you stay in and graduate while being cool and Harvardy.
I have a Chinese friend who taught me martial arts and had been a major in the Chinese military under Mao. She lived through the 1959 - 62 famine when as she said, kids were not sold for food, they were sold AS food.
I expect her grandkids did well in college. They had absolutely no choice.

Harvard can't have 45% Asian attendees if they don't accept them.

Any students that drop out are a large loss of revenue so it makes a lot of sense to be very choosy, almost as if Harvard was a clever business..

Indeed.Even racist ipatents source showed that the average SAT score for black students at Harvard was over 1400.Nearly any A student with a 1400 SAT is capable and qualified to make it through any college. Their racism blocks their ability to understand that .
No it didn't. It was a confusing article with scores in the 700s.
In any event 1400 is not a high score after they re-centered the verbal in the '90s by giving an extra 80 points to everyone.

The SAT was a three part test with a perfect score of 2400 most of those years.
