There are lots of ways to dissect the eye poppingly large “not Trump” number Biden but it’s important to understand when an incumbent president runs for their second term it is largely considered a referendum on their performance in the first term.
Conversely, the last two challengers to knock off an incumbent, Reagan and Clinton, were incredible campaigners and able to craft a message that reached people. I wouldn’t say Biden is in this group as of yet.
