Having said all that, he's still infinitely better than Trump so I'll be voting for him in November. Trump is the first person to win their party's nomination on either side that I truly despise. It's not like I loved Obama. I would have been fine if Romney won. However, this clown has zero business being POTUS and I find it absolutely ridiculous that he won. I'm not super left-wing and I don't want a FTT so I'm very happy Bernie didn't win. Luckily it looks like the Dems learned from the GOP's debacle in 2016 and were able to coalesce.

After months and months of trying out a a new candidate every week well, well past the point when new candidates have traditionally entered, they distilled the process down to the sludge at the bottom- which turned out to be Joe Biden. This is what you call "coalescing." And they are still flipping over rocks- like Cuomo- and praying to the gods and sacrificing chickens hoping that somehow it will not be Biden. This is not going to go well or end well for Joe.

Also, in regard to your reference to "the GOP's debacle in 2016," that would also be known as "the GOP successfully going on to win the White House." Apparently you are saying the dems are going "to learn" from that and make sure they don't end out in the White House. I don't doubt that.

And you say "I will be voting for him in November." Let's adjust that a little and say "I will be voting for him in November IF HE IS ON THE BALLOT."

I meant it was a debacle for the GOP's establishment. They divided up what I consider to be the reasonable vote and it allowed him to take control of the party, then change it (for the worse in my opinion). He won with an inside straight (MI, PA, WI at less than 1%), but honestly, it was the GOP's turn at that point. Hillary's reputation had been extremely tarnished for years and I think somebody like a Rubio or a Kasich would have won easily. A lot can happen between now and 2020. I think Biden will win, because the electorate will be 4 years younger. I also think that there's a decent amount of people who didn't vote last time that have had enough of him. I wanted to give him a chance. I was hoping that once he got into office he'd try to unite the country and he was just pandering to the primary voters in order to win. I didn't understand his full record in 2016. At that point I still thought he was actually a legitimate businessman. Now I know he inherited basically everything and he's just a total clown. Ultimately though, it will depend on the perceived job he's doing on election day. By that time, I don't think it will be perceived well, because the Democrats will point out his failures in ads and I personally don't think he's done a good job up until this point. It baffled me how many people were approving of his Coronavirus response at first, but those numbers are trending downward now. People are now seeing the effects of his tardiness and the fact that he still hasn't mandated a national stay-at-home order baffles me. I also don't expect him to start listening to people who know what they're doing (he hasn't his entire presidency) so my guess tells me it ends badly for him. The best thing he can do is let somebody like Fauci take total control, but his ego probably won't let him do that. I think it's shaping up to be a debacle and unfortunately it's going to cost a lot of lives.

If dems think that Trump's numbers are trending down, maybe they can just impeach him again or set up some more investigative committees and boost his numbers back up.

Biden is winning the nomination in a landslide right now. He is more ahead than Obama and Clinton were and will win the nomination with a larger percentage of the vote and delegates.

They will keep underestimating Biden but Biden will keep winning because he is likable and easy to vote for because no one doubts his motives. He’s a true patriot in the corniest sense because he believes in America and Americans.

We all know if Biden is the president the rule of law will be upheld and equal opportunity will be strived for.

There is no doubt with Biden we will have good government, too. People now understand the importance of good government goes beyond social programs. Poor government will destroy the economy and can endanger your life and health, as we are seeing today.

Another point, people in the media attack Biden for is toning down the rhetoric during this current crisis but it’s the right thing to do. There will be plenty of time later to air out all of the failures we’ve seen these past 3 months but now is not the time.

Well, I preferred Buttigieg or Klobuchar, but it became clear to me after NV that Biden was the only one who could assemble the coalition needed to beat Bernie. Buttigieg and Klobuchar were not attracting any minorities, Warren (who's also too far to the left for me) was performing extremely poorly in places she needed to do well in, and Bloomberg was a disaster that most of the base would have rejected (he was obviously trying to buy the election). I thought Biden performed okay (not great) in his debate H2H against Bernie, but Bernie isn't a strong debater either as he just rambles the same points over and over again. I have serious questions as to whether or not Biden's cognitively all there. If he were 10 years younger I wouldn't even worry about him, but now he repeats everything 3 times when he speaks. I assume it's his way to give his brain to gather its thoughts. As I said, I'll vote for him in heartbeat over Trump, but I hope he has a decent VP pick. No doubt Trump is going to focus on his aging.

So the DNC got Jim Clyburn to come out of mothballs and tell all blacks to vote for Joe. Again, Joe did very, very little on his own and what he did do hurt him.

The DNC is already plotting how to declare an emergency- with covid being the excuse- and then change the rules to let the let the dnc or the existing delegates choose the candidate or some crooked scenario. I do agree that it was more like the Dem establishment saying, I guess we gotta suck it up and go with this guy rather than Joe enthusiasm. Obama had real enthusiasm behind him when he ran. Supposedly Obama was worried about Joe running, because he sees the same shit everybody else sees. However, nobody else could break through with the necessary coalition to win. Buttigieg and Klobuchar were polling at like 1-2% with black people haha.

Everyone acknowledges that both Bubba Clinton and Obama were the two greatest campaigners in modern history even if you do not agree with them. Hillary was a tone-deaf ho-hummer but she also had true followers. People who would go out and put flyers on the windshields of cars on november morning. And who thought she was Susan B. Anthony or something.

Yeah, he ran 3 times before and got 1% or less. It wasn't like he figured out how to excite the base at 78 years old, just started with 100% name ID. His numbers went down until people started dropping out.
