Yep. There are lots of scenarios so they just need to get on with it.

Indeed, they will have to vote for "it," but there are lot's of its. Are they voting to allow witnesses, as many as each side requests, or voting on each witness, or voting on the number of witnesses with each side to have the same, does the chief justice get to break a tie, so on and so forth.

Fortunately those questions are upon them. They have to either figure that out this week or pay the penalty of not figuring it out and just sitting in the senate and going in circles until they do.

Reports are that Republicans and Democrats are negotiating the witness list. One proposal is to call both John Bolton and Hunter Biden and limit witnesses to those 2. Democrats of course, do not want to call any of the Bidens so, hard to imagine they will agree to that. I heard the vote is Friday, January 31. Don't know if that is accurate.

Yeh, I can see them going down that road.

Plan A would be to have them vote against any witnesses, but Mitch is saying he doesnt have the votes.

So Plan B would be for the republican to load up the witness list in a way that the dems will vote against it. That way, they avoid the dreaded accusation that they did not want witnesses and get to assert that the dems only wanted dem witnesses.

All great sport I guess. Just glad it is going to end soon or else get very painful if they dont end it. The other card the pubs are holding is that Lindsey Graham says he is going to call Hunter and Joe before the Senate Judiciary Committee if they impeachment trial does not get them so the bidens/or Hunter anyway don't know when they are out of the woods. They will no-show anyway but that is fine. That's a useable outcome for political purposes.

I just checked the 10-day weather forecast for Iowa. Says it's supposed to be "partly cloudy" on caucus day.

That should cause quite a few biden voters to stay home. You gotta take precautions with "partly cloudy."
