Obama was ahead of Romney in Nov 2011.Obama was ahead of McCain in Nov 2007.Bush was ahead of Kerry in Nov 2003.Historically poll numbers are more accurate for sitting presidents running for re election than 2 new nominees.

I think approval ratings are the best predictor though,they are 100% accurate since they started in the 1940s.

No president has won reelection with a first term average approval of less than 50,Trump is 40.No president has won reelection with a disapproval higher than approval.Trumps disapproval is 11 points higher than his approval.

Yeh, I am not sure we know the backstory there on the Kerry's stepson. He may have been told by John Kerry - who was then the Secretary of State to extricate himself from any Ukraine dealing with Hunter pronto before they all go down together. Then suddenly, the Heinz stepson felt the need to send emails to Kerry's aides stating to them that he had severed connections. Biden as VP and Hunter had their own connections and contacts and dealings with Ukraine. But so did Kerry. He was Secretary of State and oversaw the ambssador and the Ukraine was hotspot in the world. And like Biden, he had a family member crawling around there too, the heinz kid. Not sure whether the kid pulled out or whether Kerry got him out. Oh, that's right. Kerry and Joe never speak to their kids about anything, anywhere.

So let's see. Kerry was Secretary of State, and his stepson notifies Kerry's aids by email that he is distancing himself from something rotten that the Vice President's son is still involved in.

Not pretty.
