Ever hear of Andrew Cuomo? He was Clinton's HUD guy. It was a whole culture of everybody must have a home. In their name. Easy money and low interest rates courtesy of HUD, Fannie, and Freddie. Oh, and then there was "The Community Reinvestment Act", which had been moribund for 20 years, which basically required banks to give mortgages to... friggin anybody(!).

Bush turned a budget surplus to a 1.2 trillion dollar a year deficit

Trump turned a 600 billion a year deficit to a 1 trillion + a year deficit and counting.
