Former Vice President Joe Biden threatened Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for launching an investigation into his activities with Ukraine while in the Obama White House, stating the Republican will “regret” the move his “whole life.”

On Thursday, Graham sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo requesting documents to aid in determining whether Biden pushed for the firing of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin to squash a sweeping probe into Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian energy giant where his son, Hunter Biden, served as a board member. The younger Biden was compensated generously, making up to $83,000 a month for several years while on the Burisma’s board.


“Lindsey is about to go down in a way that I think he’s going to regret his whole life,” Biden told CNN host Don Lemon in a Friday interview in South Carolina. “I say Lindsey, I just — I’m just embarrassed by what you’re doing, for you. I mean, my Lord.”

“They have him under their thumb right now. They know he knows that if he comes out against Trump, he’s got a real tough road for reelection, number one,” the former vice president continued about the South Carolina senator.

Biden then said he is “angered” by the probe because of his long friendship with Graham dating back to their time together in the Senate and suggested President Trump may have pressured him to launch the probe.

“He knows me; he knows my son; he knows there’s nothing to this,” he vented. “Trump is now essentially holding power over him that even the Ukrainians wouldn’t yield to. The Ukrainians would not yield to, quote, ‘investigate Biden’ — there’s nothing to investigate about Biden or his son.”

The senator requested all documents and communications related to Joe Biden’s phone calls with Poroshenko on Feb. 11, 18 and 19, and March 22, 2016, citing media reports that they discussed previous demands to dismiss Shokin for alleged corruption before he was removed from office on March 29, 2016.

Graham also requested documents and communications between Joe Biden and his office and Poroshenko and his office between Feb. 2, 2016, when Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky’s home was raided and Shokin’s dismissal.

Graham is also seeking all documents and communications related to a meeting between Devon Archer, a business partner of Hunter Biden, and then-Secretary of State John Kerry on March 2, 2016.

Graham’s request comes after two weeks of public testimony on the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, which centers around a “whistleblower” complaint that Trump withheld military aid from Ukraine in an attempt to pressure newly elected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Burisma and the Bidens.

In a way I feel sorry for Biden, on the personal level the guy has endured a lot of tragedy in his life. That’s offset by his political life where he’s a life long establishment politician, he’s a prime example of political overindulgence and abuse - the guy is the “deep state” and controlled by his masters. Tis why he’s the superdelegates favorite.

With Joe nothing changes, what you hate about the government just gets turned up a notch under his watch.

Yes and predictably we will see some drama out of Meghan McCain.

She, Lindsey, Biden, and John McCain were all joined at the hip in the good old days, which are not so good anymore. You may recall that she crowed about how Lindsey was "her uncle.? And she and Cindy McCain are supporting Biden for 2020. Now Lindsey has gone off the reservation and is attacking or exposing Biden.

None of that is important in the scheme of things. Just sayin there is predictable side-shiite that goes with some of this. I do think though that some of that side shiite is relevant. ie. Lindsey has in turn been soft on Biden because of those background relationships. Biden might not want to get too vicious with him because he has Trump's ear.

And the beat goes on......

This morning I posted some things again about how this impeachment that was supposed to be over by Oct if it began was already inevitably out to the first of January and every wrinkle from here would push it out even further. Now I just heard that they are trying for a January 27 date so that Chief Justice Roberts can do the trial during the scheduled court break and would not cause him to move the Court schedule. So let's see now. Iowa primary/caucus is Feb 3. And Pelosi's absolutely worst fear that she tried to avoid was that this not go into primary season.

Yeh, it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Actually I don't think Joe controls the release of those documents. The request was to the State Department. Trump can release his own and did because he is president and still in office and oversees the state department and the intel agencies who were in on his interactions. So he can offer up the necessary approvals for himself. And probably for Joe's stuff too- for the most part- although might be some areas where Joe can assert Executive Privilege for the time periods when it applied. Not sure. But his actions would have created email traffic among his subordinates and with ukraine embassy personnel that would not be protected. I mean it would not be protected by Exec Privilege but would be protected by security classification, which Trump could lift. Just to get Joe worked up and defensive about all that helps and we are seeing it already. He just tried to cut the dick off of his best buddy Lindsey so you know it's getting good.

Joe and Hunter will resist for various legal reasons but that will only make things worse. Not only does it make for bad optics but it will just cause the Senate to subpoena more and more witnesses to fill in the blanks create by their lack of cooperation.

Y'all will recall that the other day I said that Joe telling immigfrant activists to vote for Trump if they dont like what he and Obama did, would not age well.

Not sayin that is the only episode that shows that he is tone deaf but it certainly was symptomatic of a larger dumphukariousness in regard to hispanics.

Yeh, I know. Polls this and polls that- and Joe is leading in South Carolina and the southern part of Reno- and it is all good for Joe. But guess what- some day it is not going to be.

Vanessa Cárdenas, the most senior Latina Biden staffer, had been serving as national coalitions director since the campaign formally announced its existence April 25. She resigned last week and has since changed her bio on Twitter to say she was “formerly with @joebiden.”

Cárdenas did not return a call or text message, but two friends familiar with her thinking told POLITICO that she felt the campaign wasn’t heeding her advice on immigration as she tried to reach out to Latino groups that have had longstanding concerns with the former vice president’s rhetoric and record stemming from the Obama administration.

“The campaign is just hyper-focused on whites in Iowa and African-Americans and it placed less value on Latino outreach,” an immigration activist and friend who spoke with her told POLITICO.

“Vanessa kept banging her head against the wall trying to get them to take the community more seriously,” the friend, who wasn’t authorized to speak on her behalf, said. “And Biden just really won’t change when it comes to the way he talks about immigration. It became too much.”
