Biden 2020

Biden’s town hall last night was very good for him. He continues to benefit from the Trump campaign setting the bar low with their claims Biden has physical and mental impairments. I’ve always said Biden’s weakness is his age but it didn’t show last night. He definitely looked stronger than Trump both mentally and physically.

Biden was on his feet without a podium the whole time. Compared to Trump sitting through his entire ABC town hall. Biden answered questions with ease and displayed policy depth Trump will never be capable of.

He got a tough question on water table regulations and knocked it out of the park. His story at the end that led to a lesson on how to work with people you disagree showed wisdom.

So how many people watched Biden's "town hall" last night? It came in a very distant third place among the cable news networks (FOX, MSNBC, CNN). Most Americans did not even know it was on. The majority of the U.S. TV audience were watching things like "Big Brother" and "Love Island".

Trump sucked balls as well.

He could not even beat out the NBA who supposedly is failing right?

“The President and the People: A 20/20 Special Event," staged in Philadelphia and moderated by George Stephanopoulos, had the president answering questions from undecided voters. The 90-minute show attracted 3.97 million spectators, according to the Reporter.

Those numbers were dwarfed by “America’s Got Talent," which easily claimed the night with 5.94 million watchers. A Game 7 NBA conference semifinal featuring the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers was the second-most-watched playoff game so far this season with 5.23 million viewers and an impressive 2.2 million spectators in the coveted 18-49 demographic.

Trump also lagged behind an episode of “Big Brother” and Game 1 of the Miami Heat’s thrilling overtime conference final win over the Boston Celtics.

Biden did not suck, he actually did pretty well. It’s not hard to tell Biden is formulating a new campaign message to bring into the debates based on last night.

I never said Trump is doing much better. But Biden appears to be suffering a distinct lack of enthusiasm from voters. Note that 3.97 million spectators will probably be three times what Biden's Town Hall gets.

My apologies... but the assertion still stands.... nearly no one in the U.S. watched Biden's Town Hall last night.

We’ll see what the ratings were, more is always good but what is important is the messages he put out and how that reverberates and moves into the broader discourse of the media and campaign advertising etc.

I felt like Biden did well on his own and with the Trump campaign setting the bar so low it just multiplies his good performance.
