Why schedule any public events?.... when nearly every off-script word that comes out of Trump's mouth this week will simply serve to help Biden win the election.
Sometimes it is best to keep quiet and allow someone to defeat them-self.

I think Biden's campaign is following a version of that strategy, except it is Biden that they are worried about.
Meh. I kind of got lulled into this thinking in 2016 then a series of improbable events hit the Clinton campaign and exposed the weaknesses of not full on campaigning to sure up support. And the rest is history.
The Biden campaign needs to be creative, not sit on a soft lead. This race will tighten from now through November.
Dems like to frame the Hillary failing-to-campaign scenario as just a matter of becoming complacent and trying to run out the clock.
It was worse than that though. As with Biden, her handlers had real concerns about putting her out there and doing harm when she was ahead in the polls. Particularly after that "deplorables" fiasco.
It’s all fair criticism that the left needs to accept. Especially for the fact that there is significant opportunity for the Biden campaign in so many areas. Biden can gain in older voters, suburban voters and minority voters. He’s not as limited as Clinton was.
