Bible cant be true because of million year old fossils/carbon dating...right?

Quote from William Rennick:

Who gives a crap if you can't understand everything. Humans are idiots compared to the Almighty. With all of our science and supposed wisdom, we couldn't create a single cell new life form. Atheists are morons, and most religious pricks are really just lost judgemental assholes. Take the mighty spider..How could this amazing creature have the ability to shoot a string out of it's ass and then be able to form an intricate geometric web out of it. The answer: God made it that way, and then programmed it with it's inborn instinct. Same with a beaver, or a goose.

As for the dinosaurs, they coexisted with Man, it is all over the historical record. They were called Dragons back then. Is there Evolution? Hell yes, it is in God's design. Cro magnon man was likely a prototype. Who knows for sure. What is certain is that there is a superior being running the show, if you can't see that I feel sorry for you.

Rennick out:cool:

wow that makes you one smart fellow because the smartest man in the world cant see a superior being running the show either:

"The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this.
-- Albert Einstein, in a letter responding to philosopher Eric Gutkind, who had sent him a copy of his book Choose Life: The Biblical Call to Revolt; quoted from James Randerson, "Childish Superstition: Einstein's Letter Makes View of Religion Relatively Clear"

you must be smarter than einstein.

Quote from mxjones:

Maybe you should convince people to read the Bible (you should capitalize the "B", by the way) by your actions, and doing things that make others want to investigate your motivation because they want to follow your footsteps.

That means following the actions of Jesus - serving your fellow man, helping the poor, being good and pure in your words and actions. Not constantly posting things on an Internet forum that give rise to divisive language and promote anger and hostility.

It amazes me how you "Christians" seem to forget the teachings of Jesus. Spend time on your actions, and people will follow if your actions are right, loving, caring, and pure. Stop causing controversy, fights, arguments, etc...and REALLY ask yourself "what would Jesus do" in every situation. You will be amazed at how it is the complete opposite of what you currently do and how you currently think/act.

If you spent as much time helping others and working to make a positive change in the world as you do posting here, you would be a candidate for sainthood.

I agree with that but lets be realistic and not hold "christians" to a higher standard just because they are christians.

The belief does not make it any easier to be jesus like.

I want to say just like believing in science doesnt make it any easier to be a physicist but the two don't really mean the same thing.

I don't hold "Christians" to a higher standard - I encourage them to follow the teachings of Jesus and act appropriately towards their fellow man. Most seem to have lost the way, and wallow in hate and divisiveness instead.

If they are true "Christians", they need to get back to the basics and as I said before, act appropriately.

....posting the crap you did , I for one am glad of the rarity.

Yeah stu, you are one that I hoped would read that. Although I did think I would get more back from you than that since you are such an authority on crap posting. After all you've done it over 3000 times, right? LOL!!! RC

I agree that Christians do often fail to do part of our job of setting a better example to society. Christian or not we ALL do.
A lot of times the reasons behind why "so called" Christians cause the divisiveness you're talking about is because they are not acting in the best interest of Christ. However, you cannot deny that Christ did not cause and is causing division and controversy in society. It is because people reject and hate His authority and everything else that He is all about. 120 meaning the maximum age. If you cant understand some of the more simple things in the bible, I cant expect you to understand the more complex stuff. I swear...its like talking to a monkey. (get it?) :D

Ummm... if 120 is the maximum age ("maximum" the Bible also doesn't say) then how did Adam live to 930?

What, you mean, threaten your fellow man with torture and then say you "love" them really?

Actually, it says from a particular time forward, than man will not live longer than 120 years.

Quote from maxpi:

The circular reasoning in "science" leaves holes big enough to drive a truck through, and people drive them through all the time, but "science" owns the venue for the official debate and that's all she wrote concerning that... take away their public funding, let the debate be open, let them get students and funding from winning the debate.. guess what, they would be gone in a matter of years...

Look around you. 95% of what you see is directly due to scientific advancements. Of course science owns the venue.

Just like the 6000 years nonsense, the Bible says nothing about 120 years being maximum.

(Which is a good thing since the oldest person lived to 122 years.)
