Because after you are done all this, you will likely find it to be a giant Rube Goldberg machine. This is why many have complained about the complexity of this, and the major lack of independently verified results. I challenged Jack to a contest a couple of weeks back, and he bailed.
I suspect you will be realizing all this within 1-3 months. Then you can start focusing on things that actually have value.

From what I've gleaned so far, it looks doable. Definitely auto-charting the tapes and channels is doable. I just need to clarify that all the rules for the cases I am looking at are correct.
