Better off as a plumber?

Is the value of an education reaching "not worth it" levels?

Do you mean fixing them up and selling them, or selling them from a used car lot?
finding deals , jumping titles and profiting:) both , if you can fix them that's even better.

s alone. He charges $70 and hour and on a bad week brings home $1500. The reason the rates stay high is because unlike roofing, framing, sheetrocking, bricklaying, concrete pouring most cities have laws that say only a licensed plumber can do the work which prevents most illegal hispanics from getting into the industry. Same for electrical as well.

This simply will not last and is already cracking.

a good profession with little education is dental hygienist. 2 year associate degree, average pay about 60k. i have a friend who makes 80k although she has been at the same office for about 15 years.

what about flipping use cars , i'm doing it:))) better deal than trading.

I do that as a hobby, some OK side money too for doing something else I love beside trading. Actually picking up a 99 camaro with 67k miles for cheap today from a 65 year old dude who just wants to get rid of the thing because its been sitting in his garage. Fun to drive it around while I have it, do some work on it, and flip it.

A plumber is trading his time, expertise and work for federal reserve notes.

Every transaction in any business is a trade, just strive to make smart trades. Whether a plumber , baker, car salesman, secretary or whatever.

Some markets may offer more opportunity than others at any given point.

We all traders!:)

Talk about complacency!

80k

secure

2 years school

i see no complacency here. better word is probably... steady.

vast majority of people with masters degrees in business for 15 years dont make 80k. those are just the facts sir.

had he become what is clearly the optimal career choice for anyone anywhere: a master plumber. Nowhere on the planet is there a poor or unemployed master plumber! .

:D

I checked around re "Master Plumber" and picked up a couple of insider "tips".

1) Shit flows downhill, payday is on Friday.

2) All assholes are potential customers.

3) Don't bite your fingernails.

In this day and age, one must school themselves in an arena which "cannot be outsourced".... plumber, HVAC, nurse, mechanic...

Pretty much what Buffett said regarding investing. Invest in companies that can't be outsourced.
