Best software?

Hi everyone, this forum seems to be a great
place to learn from people who are really
putting effort in to do this full time.

I love reading the discussions over tesing
trading systems etc. and I'm very interested
to learn more.

I have one pertinent issue though; and
that is that I use the Forex.com Java software.

It seems pretty limited, and I see people
mentioning MA (moving average) 50, etc,
while I only have a choice of SMA or EMA
in this software.

What would you recommend as affordable
software to trade with? I'm 19 years old
and intend to begin real trading for
a steady income before 2006.

Thanks in advance!

SMA (simple moving average) and MA are one and the same. See the "Books" tab above for some recommended TA titles.

Before talking about "real trading for a steady income" within the next 6 months, why not open a demo account with any forex broker and challenge yourself to become consitently profitable there, for starters? If you want a recommendation, can't go wrong with Oanda FXGame, and then FXTrade, when you are ready.

You posted under another nick right? I saw another post formated this way. XD

amibroker
There is a free version. Unless you trade live, there is no need for the paid version. If you go live, its only $192 for the paid version.

Hi, thanks guys. I've been using a demo
account at Forex.com.

Who are FXTrader and why do you recommend them?

What broker software shows volume?
Forex.com does not. :\

By the way, I have not posted under
another nickname.

there are no volume for Spot Forex dealers. (Oanda, Refco, Forex.com etc etc)

Metatrader has a free platform which simulates volume though : http://www.metaquotes.net/metatrader
It has a built-in custom indicator builder and backtester BUT the codes are quite INSANE to master. :D

only Forex Futures traded at CME (www.cme.com) has official volume.
