Best retail broker for my needs?

You go with IB because it is a no-nonsense firm that doesn't try to nickel and dime clients to death. There are other good firms but if you use overnight margin they charge very high fees. It is surprising that there is no anti-trust investigations to look into collusion to maintain high interest rates in margin accounts.

Is the maintenance margin overnight $14,300 for ES (without charging extra fees)? That's all I would expect.

there are no other fees except real time data. yes, the margin is high and changes all the time depends on market conditions. start with mes.

@farmerjohn1324

I've had an account with @CannonTrading_Ilan for a few years now. It's been great. Competitive commissions, multiple platforms, good email/call support. Definitely recommend

I have an AMP account too. I know it's cheap, but they're support is rough at times. You get what you pay for in life.

If you're brand new, try Tradovate. You get the brokerage and the trading platform all in one, with no commitment. Plus they have low daytrading rates, decent commissions, a good browser-based interface, and a pretty nice mobile app. It's really a great comparison point for other services.
