I strongly suggest Radmin. Its 300 times faster than VNC. A lifetime license is only 50$, and its the most stable and fastest remote desktop solution you can get.
Sounds good, I tried to find a mainstream review of it on the web but couldn't. They do have a comparison on their site (http://www.radmin.com/products/comparisons/) but in the linked videos they tested it on a dedicated 100Mb LAN segment, e.g. not real-world.
Does radmin offer different levels of compression to compensate for slow links?
