If the problem is recent you could do a system restore. Do you have it turned on?

I know how to do a System Restore so I can if necessary give that a shot.

I use ccleaner does anyone know how to stop is from deleting my history and drop down on ie. ?

Other then that it's seems to work very well.

Uncheck History under IE in the program settings(CCleaner). Not sure what you mean by drop down. Bookmarks?

MSFT makes their own I think, called RegClean. I used it many times.
Or get it from download.com
