Wow - looks wonderful. So maybe I should buy a house there? I didn't knew Sardinia was to well-connected. Do you live there?lWhat is the cost compared to Umbria?
Sardinia or Umbria ?
Not easy to answer, it truly depends on your taste and what you are looking for in Italy.
Umbria is a gigantic park, with wonderful hills, rivers and lakes (Trasimeno the larger) colourful medieval towns.
Very quiet and out of the path of crowded tourism.
Sardinia is very different and due to its location and dimension has a bigger variety of landscapes and a big plus (to me) is obviously the amazing beaches and sea.
As I told you before, here housing prices can vary enormously.
If you choose a well-known touristic area where the jet-set goes on holyday ,like Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo (Costa Smeralda ), you'll find wonderful villas ,great clubs, restaurants etc, but prices are quite high ( and you better have your own yacht or you'll feel depressed after a while

hehe).
One of the most notorious place to hang out at night is called "millionaire"(go figure...) and the owner is Renault F1 Managing Director, Flavio Briatore ( the bastard , used to be the fiance' of Top Model Naomi Campbell......arghhhhlll, I hate him , hehehe)
On the other hand, it's possible to find "normal" prices if you choose something less glamorous, and you won't miss a piece of this beautiful island .
Surely, both Sardinia and Umbria, have lower cost of life compared to North Italy, but again here depends on your lifestyle
Well the best thing you can do is to travel to both regions and make up your mind.
And keep things real, I mean don't rush to the first R. Estate agent drooling like a dog, waving your cash, roflmao J/K.
A bit of patience can save you lots of money (and that happens everywhere..).
Currently I'm living In Spain (Ibiza), I'm a six month traveller (no taxes thanks...

), so I'm already planning my next moving, but surely Sardinia is on my list as a nice place to call home one day.
I'm from Emiia Romagna (Bologna, Modena, Parma etc.)
