Canada is a great place to live, so is the USA (well most areas) I've lived in both., but I prefer the comfort of living in Canada (less crime, clean area, etc.) Also, when talking about taxes and trading, don't forget that the strong US dollar makes it lucrative to trade the US markets in US cash. You can tack on between 30% to 40%(although the US dollar is now falling some) when exchanging your US$ capital gains to Canadian cash, that more than offsets any additional Canadian tax you would pay. So in the end you come out ahead.

You're kidding about Cuba, right. They're pulling your leg. Bright hasn't opened an office there yet, living there isn't the easiest thing in the world.
Owning a computer is illegal, I'm not saying people don't have and there is internet service for those select few, who got connection in the gov't and can hack it from there jobs.
People in gov't have access to e-mail but not the internet in general.
Castro, Inc. is afraid people may find out what really goes on there and more importantly out here.

By the way I was wrong in one of my previous posts, if you are a UE resident, you need a permit to stay in Spain longer than 3 months. Easy to obtain if you can prove you have money to live there (rent,bills etc) , even if you don't work there.( Yeah, you don't work there, you have just a nice Pc in your house..... :eek:

About two hours to ski in: Vail, Aspen, Telluride, Crested Butte, one and a half hours from mountain biking or jeeping in Moab, Utah, plus you can see where alot of old western movies were shot, 6 hours from boating in Lake Powell, golf year round, well if it snows the greens will be closed until noon when it melts off. No humidity!
I know of someone that moved right where you are talking about a couple of months ago for all of those reasons. He picked Grand Junction, Co which is right in that area I believe. High speed internet is available in the area.
Real Estate is pretty affordable there too. Colorado usually takes a big hit in property values when real estate has the typical decade or so retracement. From what I hear the real estate market is slowing there. The only bummer I can think of is state income tax.
Speaking of Moab, Utah, I have been keeping my eye on a house there. I actually don't know much about the area, and haven't ever been there. Just trying to look around on the possibilities. Here is a link. http://www.moabproperties.com/listings/l0031.html

Just read that in Sweden the suspect in the murder of a high ranking politician is innocent and being released.
Where else can you find a country that would release an innocent man in this situation? Imagine Colon Powell was murdered and they caught a suspect a couple of days later. Do you think they would let him go a week after that if they found out he was innocent?
Besides, Sweden has very long daylight hours in summer.
Of course, there is also the other half of the year...
