Best multi-monitor PC's for day trading?

Is it a problem to run everything on a SSD? With Win 7 and TRIM does that manage the constant read and writes, so that running everything on a SSD is not a performance issue.

Currently I am using 65 gigs of my 150 WD Raptor and don't expect to need much more space.

No problem at all. The best performance from an SSD is at the 240-256GB size (and larger)... that's where "maximum parallelism" is first seen. Smaller SSDs have less parallelism and are therefore a bit slower.

I was looking at the Corsair Force Series GT CSSD-F120GBGT-BK 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Performance

Max Sequential Read
Up to 555MB/s

Max Sequential Write
Up to 515MB/s

4KB Random Write
Up to 85,000 IOPS

MTBF
2,000,000 hours

10 pack of flats , one digital T box drives them.

use spf 30 and limit your exposure.
Care to explain the terms?
T box, spf 30 ??

Google returns nothing that makes sense.
(T box leads to set top boxes, spf to sun protection factors:))

How did you mount the lcds?

i still dont get what the big fucking deal is. Even the basic computers nowdays can run most trading software just fine, they are not that demanding. Just pick up a dell pc or imac(less wires) and stop wasting time with this performance masterbuation.

SSD is order of magnitude faster than mechanical hdd but you dont need any of that stuff for a trading computer. Maybe if you are building a gaming rig...

I also havent turned off my computer in over a year now, so not sure what you guys get out of a 30 sec vs 60 sec bootup comparison. Do you reboot your pc in the middle of daytrading, is it some sort of new strategy depends on how fast it boots up?

ps my macbook pro boots up win 7 64bit on intel x-25m under 20 sec.

+1.

+1.

Is that "+1" for acknowledgement of the low requirements for a trading computer (except when 5-6+ monitors)... or for you sharing OPs smug condescension?

the +1 meant that i agreed that start up time is one of the least important factors in terms of computing requirements. i don't have condescension for anyone buying any computer period. people can make their own decisions after weighing all the facts from users from forums like this one.
