In the early/mid '90's, FNN/CNBC used to have a short segment with Dan Dorfman. He would come on and name a stock, and it would move. Since trading over the phone was in, and the annoucement was usually made around 2:00PM, you could get in quickly and ride the wave for a day or two. The problem with Cramer's influence is that his show is taped and delayed; his stocks are already on the move.

Forgot who it was, but when you broke the DJ buyout stock ran for about 5 seconds before it got halted, then huge gap up, I think around 10-15 points. It was probably the best/easiest trade ever.
