Best low risk investments, Oct 2022

Hello TimtheEnchanter,

Please tell me what business to start that is better than having a 40 hour a week job that pays +$100K per year, great health insurance, and 401K retirement plan?

If you are in the right areas there are plenty of small business areas ( eg one person service companies ) that can make a ton of money.

EXACTLY\
+actually there a lot of small business right areas/ super Reward-risk.
Strangely, i never did as good in IWM\small caps. part of it maybe ESG.
Mr Musk, likes clean cars, bluntly but rightly\ said the s stands for = satan.:caution::caution::caution::caution::caution::caution:,:caution::caution::caution:,:caution:
The US gov gives small companies plenty of tax breaks, like farmers they help the economy so much.
Not a stock or for sure not an ETF tip. Vanguard small cap does a bit better; but small cap 600 a bit worse. But some of IBD small cap ideas= a bit better
JAN SPY[or VOO=Vanguard 500]+ related looks like a low risk, for stocks anyway.
I never bought VOO even though expenses are bit less than SPY/ All my charts are SPY/SPXL.....:D:D

Searching for low/no risk greater than 4% isn't easy, depending on what counts as "low risk" of course!

Knowing where you live, I know you can beat that with virtually zero risk with net metering. I know a farmer ~350 km away from you who installed a $50,000 solar array that saves him ~$3,500 per year in electricity costs: that's ~7%/year and he's had a very steady return each year for about five years so far. Plus, you don't pay tax on saved costs (whereas you would pay tax on 7% earned from a GIC/CD, for example) so the effective rate is higher.

The catch is you need an appropriate property and the maximum you can earn is equivalent to your electricity savings; if these are already low, then you can't earn/save much. Even for the farmer (who uses quite a bit of electricity to pump water from the river to water his fields) he can't scale beyond $50,000.

The other drawback is that you're basically committing that capital to low risk, low return for the life of the solar array and after 25-30 years (??) the panels may be garbage so you lose the initial 'investment.' You'd have to do a net present value calculation I guess.

A little outside the box, but worth sharing, I think.

Good points + light:D:D:caution::caution:.
Fast forward to JAN/FEB 2023.Plenty of FDIC insured banks pay 4% + more/WSJ noted+ online................
Actually i prefer a bit more risk + return/US stock market= good risk reward over long term.
Agriculture + small businesses can do better, depending;
especially if someone is cut out for farming +small business/so much the better.

There are some. Trading works for a VERY small group of people (not nearly as many as vendors or people on here seem to think). Real estate and multiple sources of passive income from legit online/offline businesses are the most probable route...but you have to work REALLY hard for a few years to set everything up....and it take some time to maintain, but not like a 40-80 hour as week J-O-B.
%%
OK;
RE maybe low risk, not sure ''you have to REALLY work hard for a few years'' Maybe right especially if one doesn't use e REALTOR.
Would not call ES;
or all RE low risk, but its not to good to be true, most likely can average better than 10%. Money MARKETS>4%or 4.44%
OH-oh\
did not know\
a bored out Ford/
could go so slow-
Shenandoh. 698k Video Views, thought it was 698 million
Sometime things happen in markets or more often small business that seem to good to be true;
FORD got a bunch of[low risk] gov giveaways on EVs plants+ looks like Wall Street not buying it LOL
F did much better with fossil fuels +with out40 hour labor unions, no wonder H Ford hated them:caution::caution::caution::caution::caution::caution:,:D:D:D,:caution:
REmember the rule of 72= 6x 12 hours a day=72[Edit local bank ad pay 4.5% on 5 yr cdLOL]

Is that code for c*nnabis growers? :D

LOL sounds more like a good green plot for dears;
some spell that deer. Keep it simple.
SPXS [bear SPY]related good daytrade;
SPY benchmark + related= low risk investment as long as its aboVe 200 day moving average.
So far so good, wisdom is profitable to direct+ not a prediction,
not ESG or insured by any Us federal agency:D:D

It actually sounds like urban homesteading. Be prepared if inflation and the destruction of food plants/train derailments continue at the dizzying rate they are....and you don't have room for a big garden or backyard chickens.

I have room for backyard birds/chickens;
but i feed wild birds, laying hens are fun + organic, but a bit costly in time.
It's like the hedge fund manager noted +did not buy lettuce where the price went up too much.
Same with eggs\ i buy more now that spring time\laying volume season is here=happy hens in springtime.
I have room for a big garden , but planted a commercial orchard instead; + give away a certain amount of food.................................................................................
QQQ , money markets+ related tech ETFs looks like fairly low risk; even if MARCH has some mean end of month sell offs; so i tend to use a stop loss or investment with a wider stop loss or both.
And its like my banker dad told me several time [before];
''accidents dont just happen son, they are caused'' He+ we liked fresh fish, wild + wild rabbits/wild game....
