Yeah, I'd rather much buy some junky PC that I couldn't give away, let alone sell for a minimum loss after 2 years when I want to upgrade. Also, forget about using a system that's actually enjoyable to use, lemme get some bulky ass piece of plastic!

Or better yet, let me buy my 7000$ Dell with 12 monitor setup that I will use to pull up a bunch of monochrome charts!

I like hp elite books and workstation. They are set up for some work, you can also get a docking station for home use. They have solid metal cases so are not easily damaged. You can get them with all them with a i7 and load them up with ram, without having to have a crazy graphic card. They are made for professional business class use.
( they are pricey but i buy used refurbished stuff) Anything with a i7 in it should work well though, ram and a good ssd you should be golden.

If you built it with a m.2 harddrive you could not get much faster.

I like the first one the 2nd one is still nice the 3rd is the best but comes with the price.
You said you didn't care about weight so i looked at 17 screens (the more the better) i think they all but the new one will use a docking station. I personally would probably buy the 2nd cause its cheaper, the best buy is the 1st one.
 
Most important aspect is it should be water and sand proof, in case you are on the beach in front of your hotel in Mexico...

Those are good deals (or even steals) for relatively modern and powerful specs o_O;)

Really makes you think twice about spending around $2,000 for a brand new laptop. (or a brand new anything for that matter)

For the money it doesn't look like a very good deal. It should have a m.2 ssd with a m key.
I just finished building mine for around $850.
No graphics card (yet) or maybe ever.
6700k i7, asus board, 16gb ram, m.2 250gb ssd m key, descent case and cooler.
Its better to through it together yourself for a desktop.
 
ASUS and MSI have the best high-end 17" laptops right now in terms of build quality.

Alienware's build quality right now isn't great from what I'm hearing.

IMO the Razer Blade Pro is the nicest looking high-end laptop. No silly gaming logos like ASUS or MSI.

If you prefer a 4k screen go with the Razer. I prefer a 120hz screen so I'm probably gonna pick up an ASUS, silly gaming emblems and all.
