Overall, though, I give kudos to low margins of PATS brokers, customer service, and once you're app is working, speed and stability seem quite good.

No, straight from PATS. I like to maintain control. Maybe cheaper in the long run.
 
I'm going to open an account with RCG. I'll use CQG as platform with J-trader as backup. I've seen bad words about RCG's J-trader, could any RCG users give me some input? Thanks.

Onyx looks quite similar to j-trader, except for more order types like bracket, trailing stop which I don't need. I'd probably stick with J-trader, has RCG improved J-trader's reliability recently?

I'm with Global Futures and RCG's J-Trader feed for a couple months now and never had an issue. Rock solid and stable. The fills are also top notch!
 
I use Onyx now and IMO its more reliable than J trader.

Onyx does look good and has decent functionality (more then jtrader) but unfortunately it doesn't run worth a damn on my pc's. The app constantly crashes.
