BEST J-TRADER FEED around

Quote from cmaxb:

I don't have a problem with GHCO. Miss the ACH transfers of IB. One thing I have a beef about is the PATS API. One of the most frustrating and difficult processes I have ever programmed for. Several things I'd mention:

1) Lack of good testing server. You have to buy time on their servers to test your app. You get up to a month. Most of that time is taken up with arguing with the techs over problems one encounters.

2) Different behavior across exchanges. It would be nice if the same procedures could be followed across each exchange, e.g. order statuses, fill reports, cancellations, etc.

3) Upgrades. Seems to be no quality control with software releases. I just upgraded a point release (comes out every few months). I send an order to Eurex, and it is rejected as invalid order. Even the header files had to be modified heavily to get it to compile.

Overall, though, I give kudos to low margins of PATS brokers, customer service, and once you're app is working, speed and stability seem quite good.
Have you tried thirty party tools like TradeBolt? Are you using the original API?

No, straight from PATS. I like to maintain control. Maybe cheaper in the long run.

I'm going to open an account with RCG. I'll use CQG as platform with J-trader as backup. I've seen bad words about RCG's J-trader, could any RCG users give me some input? Thanks.

Look at Onyx or Infinity Pro instead of J Trader.
Onyx looks quite similar to j-trader, except for more order types like bracket, trailing stop which I don't need. I'd probably stick with J-trader, has RCG improved J-trader's reliability recently?

We all know that J-trader has issues.

What brokers have the most reliable
feed from your own experience ?

My ranking is the following ;

1 www.elocaltrading.com
2 www.ghco.com

Stay way broker ;

1 Rosenthal Collins Group

Let me hear yours !

I'm with Global Futures and RCG's J-Trader feed for a couple months now and never had an issue. Rock solid and stable. The fills are also top notch!

I use Onyx now and IMO its more reliable than J trader.

Onyx does look good and has decent functionality (more then jtrader) but unfortunately it doesn't run worth a damn on my pc's. The app constantly crashes.
