to anyone with velocity, how does the free x-trader differ from the standard versions? can you only trade certain contracts? is the platform still the same?

Hello burritobob,

The free version of X_Trader we offer is exactly the same as the subscription version. The only difference between the two would be the subscription fee, and commissions. We're currently offering version 7.5.2.16.

Using X_Trader allows you access to all advertised exchanges and products however you're only allowed access to one exchange per login UNLESS you decide on the 2,3 exchange or X_Trader Pro subscription.

No, I'm sorry but Velocity only offers the Trading Technologies data feed.

Not making a recommendation but there are MANY MANY other brokers where you can get better rates (and service) than IB without size.

Just for instance here's a few PUBLISHED rate cards.

And don't forget about the brokers that negotiate, of which there are many more of than those with published rate cards.

right now, i'm using mirus futures. i just opened an account with them about a month ago, with 3k. never traded futures for real before and i'm only paying 2.20/side. and thats with 2-5 rt's/day. oh and i'm 18.

im sure you could do way better than that if you're doing any size at all.

now that i think about it.. i though IB was supposed to be very cheap compared to everything else?
