Best color setup for intraday trading

Every user has his preferences, there is no universal "best" color scheme.

It our software, we give the users a set of 7 pre-balanced color schemes for charts. We compiled these from years of user-suggested ones, and, of course, users can create their own color schemes as well.

Examples:

Me, I like "Sunny", but then I'm old school. Yellow lined paper speaks to me.

Although I presently use a dark background, the "Pure" and "Sunny" are appealing. But I still can't understand the popularity of candlestick bars over regular price bars.

My Fav Background:
Well ... Not the less distracting...
Not sure about the scientific explanation.

Very symmetric top and bottom.

Well, switching to OHLC bars is exactly two mouse clicks...
Thanks, I realize that. I was just making an observation. But in comparing the two similar charts, I must admit the candles make for a prettier picture. It just seems to take me a little longer to process them for some reason or other. Familiarity, I suppose.

I prefer an off-white/eggshell background with red and black bars. With a full white background I feel like I am squinting against the brightness. Try something around 245,245,245 to 250,250,250 and see how that works.
I've been meaning to change TradeStation's default black background to white. However, I think you're right about using an off white instead. I haven't gotten around to it because I think it will be a major bother and will probably take me hours to get it right. I use a large desktop system (see the 1st & last 2 minutes).

The default background color for my (very) old MetaStock EOD charts was white. I don't know why TradeStation decided to use black.
