Best City For Traders

No one mentioned Vegas? weather is good...you wake up at 6:30am trade for a few hours, you're done by lunch...but you can't take your charts to the casino...!

personally, i think its good where there is very little pressure. by that, i mean, your costs are low, there are good social supports, and opportunities for education.

i also like the idea of doing something besides trading. its a good thing to take a break and come back with fresh mind.

i'm loving the volatility, but will start trading forex soon. then, location matters.:D :D

I agree, Georgetown in DC is great: good places to eat, bars, shops... so is Arlington, VA and old town Alexandria, VA (both close to DC)

I was born, raised and currently live in Arlington :)

I agree with you....I love Vegas but I have kids, so until they are out of school I am staying in Austin, TX during the school year (I have a second home in Vegas that I go to as often as possible....I LOVE the desert climate).

Actually Austin is a great town in its own right. Good night/music scene. Nice country. Reasonable property values.

I know this thread is geared toward traders who have no dependents. well....how about for traders who just happened to be married and with kids? where would be a recommend? Or am I doomed......and there's no such place lol?
YES.....check out Austin, TX (great for kids!).

I live in Vegas.

When I first moved here, I thought the weather was nice too. But after a while, you start to get constant nose bleeds and dry eyes.

Make sure you have a good humidifier hooked up to your HVAC system.
